What is the Intellectual Wizards Club?
The Intellectual Wizards Club is an idea that originated from Mrs. Renz "Mastery Club". The purpose of this club is to mentally challenge students to go above and beyond their regular learning experiences in the classroom.
How can you participate?
You are invited to participate in the Intellectual Wizards Club (IWC) during free time, as a reward, or when you finish your work early. Make sure you bring your IWC notebook with you. Once in the Intellectual Wizards Club, all you have to do is choose a subject, then a topic challenge, learn everything you can about each topic challenge, come up with an answer, and record it in your IWC notebook. Topic challenges do not have to be chosen in any particular order, just find a topic that interests you and learn away! Each topic challenge is worth one star and each gained star allows you to participate in one of five Wizard Halls of Fame.
How do you earn stars?
It's simple! All you have to do is drop off your
IWC notebook in the Intellectual Wizards Club inbox located in the
classroom. Ms. Sanchez will then go over your answers at the end of
the day and record the total number of stars gained inside your
notebook. Your name will then be placed into one of the Wizard Halls
of Fame depending on how many stars you have been awarded. Once you
earn one star, your name will be placed in The Bronze Wizards Hall of
Fame. You will then continue to complete other challenges in order to
work your way up to The Diamond Wizards Hall of Fame. The following
chart shows the criteria for belonging to the different Wizard Halls
of Fame.
| Halls of Fame | Stars Awarded |
| Bronze Wizards | 1-15 stars |
| Silver Wizards | 16-25 stars |
| Gold Wizards | 26-45 stars |
| Platinum Wizards | 46-65 stars |
| Diamond Wizards | 66-84 stars |
What happens after you become a Diamond Wizard?
Once you become a Diamond Wizard and reach a star award level of 84 (maximum), you will have the special privilege of conducting research and developing new questions to be added to the Intellectual Wizards Club. Have fun and good luck!
