In order to understand the most from your classroom assignments, it's always good to take notes. Here are a couple of tips for taking good notes.
Write notes in your own words
unless you’re copying a definition or quote.
Write down main ideas and
important terms. Pay special attention to words or ideas that
are bold-faced or underlined
Do not try to write down
every word.
Abbreviate
longer words and words that are commonly used.
Write your notes legibly.
Don’t be too concerned with
spelling or grammar. You can fix mistakes later.
Leave lots of space around
your notes so you can add information later.
Review
your notes. If you don’t understand something, reread or ask your
teacher to clarify.
Keep your notes neat and organized. Store them in a notebook or folder
